Shane Warne’s friends and family members on Sunday attended a private funeral in his hometown to pay their last tribute to the cricketing legend.

Warne’s three children, Jackson, Brooke and Summer, and parents Keith and Brigette, were joined by about 80 guests at the service in Melbourne.

The funeral featured a who’s who of the cricketing world, with retired Australian Test captains Mark Taylor, Allan Border and Michael Clarke attending along with former England skipper Michael Vaughan.

Bowling great Merv Hughes and Warne’s long-time teammates Mark Waugh and Glenn McGrath were also there.

Warne breathed last on March 4 while on a vacation with his friends at the Samui Island in southern Thailand. An autopsy report revealed the 52-year-old died of a suspected heart attack.

Warne will be given a full public service at his beloved MCG stadium on March 30. The Aussie legend had claimed his 700th Test wicket at the venue in a Boxing Day Test in 2006, dismissing England’s Andrew Strauss.
