Cricket fraternity pays tribute to Suresh Raina following his retirement

Former India and Uttar Pradesh batter Suresh Raina, on Tuesday, announced his retirement from all formats. Notably, the star all-rounder had already retired from international cricket on August 15, 2020, shortly after MS Dhoni’s farewell.

Following Raina’s retirement, the cricket fraternity took to social media to extend their good wishes to the former Indian middle-order batter for the next phase of his life.

Young batter Shubman Gill said Raina’s contribution to game is invaluable and wished him good luck.

“Your contribution to the game of cricket is invaluable. Good luck on your second innings @ImRaina bhai,” tweeted Gill.

India women star Smriti Mandhana took to her Twitter handle and wrote: “Thanks for the memories, @ImRaina bhaiya. No one plays the inside out shot better. It’s been a pleasure to watch you play all those great knocks and set the field on fire.”

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh thanked Raina for his splendid memories and wished him the best for future endeavours.

“Congratulations, buddy @ImRaina, for an accomplished career. Thanks for all the countless memories, your presence on the field was always electrifying. My Best Wishes for your future innings. Keep smiling & enjoy precious moments with family, friends & relatives,” tweeted Harbhajan.

Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav wrote: “You have played a vital role in helping me grow as a person and as a cricketer. Congratulations on a wonderful career, and wishing you nothing but the best. @ImRaina Bhai”
