In the second T20I of the ongoing three-match series between Australia and England, Sam Curran delivered a special over, including an inch-perfect yorker to dismiss Tim David.
It seemed he had wrested a high-scoring game away from Australia and into the grasp of England, only for Tim David to have the final say.
The Three Lions seemed to have the game wrapped up when they sent half of the home team in 14.1 overs with 114 runs on the board. But hard-hitter David started striking the ball at will as Australia added 31 runs in the space of 17 balls.
Confronting David, whose power-studded 40 was a treat to watch, in the 18th over, Curran packed the offside – giving himself the perfect field to deliver the ball to way outside off stump. In reply, David shuffled across to the offside, ensuring he could meet a wide ball at full pelt. Seeing – and, perhaps, pre-empting – what David was doing, Curran bowled a leg-stump yorker: the wrong ball for his field, but the perfect one to remove the Aussie striker.

Curran’s superb over, which only conceded three runs along with the wicket of David, was the turning point of the match. England went on to win the contest by eight runs, with Matthew Wade (10*) and Pat Cummins (18*) unable to pick up the score from where David left off.
With the victory, England also sealed the T20I series and are now 2-0 ahead of the last game in Canberra on Friday, October 14.
