The second One-Day International (ODI) between Bangladesh and India is currently underway in Dhaka, where the hosts won the toss and opted to bat first. The tourists came up with a couple of changes in the form of Axar Patel and Umran Malik, replacing Shahbaz Ahmed and Kuldeep Sen, respectively.
The move to bring Umran worked like magic for the Men in Blue as the right-arm pacer frightened the Bangladesh batting unit with sheer pace. During his spellbinding spell, Umran produced an absolute jaffa to get rid of Najmul Shanto.
It all happened during the 14th over when the Jammu pacer bowled a 151 kmph thunderbolt that sent Shanto’s off stump for a ride. Umran had already rattled Shakib Al Hasan in his previous over with a mix of short balls, which forced Shanto to expect nothing but something short and didn’t really move his feet.
But the Indian pacer went for a good length delivery, and Shanto tried to push a drive into the off-side. The white leather deviated just a little after pitching, piercing the gap between bat and pad and shattering the off-stump.

Earlier at the toss, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had explained that Kuldeep wasn’t available for selection and, therefore, Umran was included in the final XI.
“We have to play good cricket, and I hope bowling first now, we can restrict them to a decent score and bat well. We have two changes. Axar Patel is back, and he replaces Shahbaz Ahmed. Kuldeep Sen is not available for selection, so we have got Umran Malik in place of him. Going back to the drawing board and understanding how we need to play on this conditions, just the basic talk about what we need to do with the bat and how to handle certain bowlers. Had a good training session yesterday, and hopefully, we can come out and replicate those learnings,” Rohit said.
