India’s run machine Virat Kohli has jumped two places to reach the fourth spot in the newly released ICC ODI rankings. Kohli, in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, smashed two centuries and helped Men in Blue whitewash the Islanders 3-0. The 34-year-old batter amassed 283 runs and was declared ‘Player of the Series’ for his exceptional performance.

As a result, in the latest ICC ODI rankings, Kohli has inched closer with Babar Azam, who sits at the top in batters standings. Meanwhile, the second and third positions are held by Rassie van der Dussen and Quinton de Kock, respectively.

Apart from Kohli, Shubman Gill also advanced ten spots to reach the 26th position, following his century and a fifty in the recent series. Gill, during the leg, scored 207 runs at an average of 69.

Mohammed Siraj, with nine wickets in three matches against Sri Lanka, showed a massive 15-spot gain to acquire the third position in the bowling charts. While Kuldeep Yadav, who just played two games, grabbed the 21st position.

Trent Boult retained his throne among bowlers and continues to sit at the top. Pakistan and New Zealand players also moved up in the rankings as per their performance in the recently completed ODI series in Karachi.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson with 164 runs in the leg, made it into the top ten and moved up to the eighth position. Devon Conway also showed an improvement and made it from outside the 100 lists to the 50th spot in the latest released batters rankings.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Nawaz was the big mover as the left-arm spinner jumped 12 spots to 28th position in the list of bowlers. Notably, Nawaz had scalped six wickets against the Kiwis.
