Australia had a memorable outing on all three days in the recently-concluded third Test against India at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. The tourists had faced two back-to-back defeats in the first two games of the ongoing 4-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, the Aussies came back in grand style, handing India an embarrassing 9-wicket defeat in the Indore Test.
After bundling out the hosts for just 163 runs in the second innings, the Steve Smith-led side had a target of 76 runs which they chased down in just a few hours of Day 3 for a loss of one wicket. The 78-run stand between Travis Head (49*) and Marnus Labuschagne (28*) took Australia over the finish line.
As Australia enjoyed a memorable victory over India, their fans also could not hide their excitement at the Holkar Stadium. In a viral video, an Australian fan was spotted celebrating his team’s victory in a very quirky way as he imitated Telugu actor Allu Arjun‘s famous pose from the 2021 hit film Pushpa. The fan went on to say the famous dialogue from the movie in Hindi, “Jhukega Nahi Saala (I won’t bow down).”

Notably, for India, it was only their third Test defeat in the last 10 years. They will need to work out their plans and strategies ahead of the final Test, which is set to begin in Ahmedabad on March 9. The fourth Test is also extremely crucial when it comes to ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final, as after the loss in the previous fixture, India’s chances of qualifying for the WTC Final have suffered a setback.
As of now, a win in the fourth Test will seal India’s spot in the WTC finals. However, a draw or a defeat in the upcoming match could complicate things. In case India lose the fourth Test, their final percentage will fall to 59, which Sri Lanka could beat, given they whitewash New Zealand in the two-match Test leg. If the Islanders end the series against the Black Caps with a 1-0 or 1-1 scoreline, they will not make it to the WTC Final, even if India lose the Ahmedabad Test.
