Indore Test didn’t turn out to be the result India would have wanted as they lost the match by nine wickets. Their chances to qualify for the World Test Championship 2023 final also declined following the embarrassing defeat at the hands of Australia. After the team’s setback, India’s star batter Virat Kohli visited Shri Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, to offer prayers.
Notably, before the Indore Test match, newly married couple KL Rahul-Athiya Shetty and Axar Patel-Meha Patel also offered prayers at the Mahakaleshwar temple.
Virat visited the Shiva temple along with his wife, Anushka Sharma and was seen sitting inside the temple premise with other pilgrims. The video of the celebrity couple marking their presence at the holy place has ever since gone viral on social media. At one point in the clip, the former India captain can also be seen talking to one of the priests sitting beside him.

Earlier this year, Virat and Anushka also visited Rishikesh and Vrindavan with their daughter Vamika. The couple in Vrindavan paid a visit to Baba Neem Karoli’s ashram, while in Rishikesh, they visited the Swami Dayanand Ji Maharaj’s samadhi at Swami Dayanand Ashram.
Speaking to ANI about her visit to the temple in Ujjain, Anushka said: “We came here to offer prayers and had a good ‘darshan’ at Mahakaleshwar temple.”
India will next face Australia in the fourth game of the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023 at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad from March 9. Virat so far hasn’t been convincing with the bat in the ongoing series and will look to make a comeback in the upcoming match.
Considering the WTC 2023 final, the last game of the Australia tour of India 2023 is an important one for the hosts, as it’s critical for the home side to win the fourth Test if they want to make it to the summit clash of the championship.
