India will tour West Indies in July and August 2023 for a multi-format series. The tour includes two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is. The schedule of the same was announced a day after the conclusion of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023 by the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI).
Notably, the WTC Final 2023 concluded on June 11, with India suffering a heartbreaking loss at the hands of eventual champions Australia. On the other hand, the Men in Maroon’s last assignment was against UAE. The Caribbean side dominated the three-match ODI series and whitewashed the hosts (3-0).
While India will enjoy a month-long break before they lock horns with West Indies, the Caribbean team will compete in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers from June 18 in Zimbabwe ahead of the India challenge.
Coming back to India’s multi-format tour to West Indies, the power-packed series will unfold from July 12 with two Tests, followed by three ODIs and five T20Is. It is also to be noted that two of the five T20Is on India’s tour of the West Indies will be played in the United States of America at the Central Broward Park and Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida.
The CEO of Cricket West Indies (CWI), Johnny Grave, expressed his excitement regarding the competition’s schedule. He further also informed that the second and final Test between India would be the 100th Test at the Queen’s Park Oval.
“We are delighted to be able to confirm the schedule and venues for the highly anticipated visit by India. One of the highlights will be the 100th Test at the Queen’s Park Oval and this promises to be a fantastic occasion as we celebrate this historic event between these two proud cricketing nations,” said Grave.
