WATCH: Old video of Beth Mooney resurfaces following Marnus Labuschagne’s napping incident in WTC 2023 Final

Cricket’s oldest rivalries: England and Australia, are all set to battle in the upcoming Ashes. While the Men’s action will begin on June 16, Women’s Ashes is set to start on June 22. Recently, Australian star Alyssa Healy, who will be leading the side in Meg Lanning’s absence, was spotted in the stands of the Oval, where the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final is taking place between Australia and India’s men’s team.

Healy was there to support her husband, Mitchell Starc, who is a prime member of the Australian side. Speaking about the summit clash, after four days of thrilling action, the mega event has reached the final stage, with the Rohit Sharma-led side needing 280 runs to win on Day 5. The high-profile contest has provided several memorable moments, ranging from Pat Cummins’ no-balls to Shubman Gill’s controversial dismissal.

However, one moment that captured the attention of many was when Marnus Labuschagne was caught taking a nap in the Australian dressing room’s balcony during the second innings. The cricketer had to wake up in all suddenness upon David Warner’s dismissal. The video quickly went viral all over the internet.

Soon, another video involving an Aussie women cricketer getting caught in a similar position resurfaced on social media. During the 2019 Women’s Ashes Test match, Australian star Beth Mooney was taking a peaceful nap while waiting for her turn to bat in the first innings. As Ellyse Perry and Rachael Haynes held the fort in the middle, Mooney, positioned at No. 6 in the batting order, awaited her turn with her pads on. However, her moment to bat arrived sooner than expected when Perry was dismissed, prompting Mooney to rouse from her sleep.
