Virat Kohli with Joshua Da Silva's mother

The Day 2 of the second Test between India and the West Indies witnessed Virat Kohli end his long drought of an overseas century by smashing a brilliant ton at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. The former India skipper played a brilliant knock of 121 runs in India’s first innings, marking his 29th Test and 76th overall century. What made the innings even more special was that the ton came in the 500th international appearance of Virat for India.

Apart from Virat’s sensational innings, what won the hearts of fans across the world was a beautiful meeting of the modern-day great with the West Indies wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva‘s mother after the stumps on Day 2.

It is worth mentioning that during the play on Day 1 between India and the Caribbean side, a few stump mic chats between Virat and Da Silva had gone viral on the internet, where the latter was heard telling Virat that his mother is a very big fan of him and has come to the venue just to watch him play.

“My mom called me and told me she’s coming to watch the match for Virat Kohli, I couldn’t believe it,” Joshua had said on the opening day of the second Test.

As Virat completed his ton on Day 2, Joshua’s mother was also present at the stadium to witness the masterclass of the Delhi-born cricketer. She even met him near the Team bus following the stumps and greeted the 34-year-old with warm hugs and kisses. Virat was generous enough to have a word with the counterpart’s mother and posed for a picture with her as well. The West Indies wicketkeeper’s mom broke down in tears following the meeting and the video of the same was shared by many on social media.

Speaking of the match, India finished their first innings on 438 before being bundled out by the hosts. Meanwhile, West Indies managed to put up 86 runs on the board for the loss of one wicket until the stumps.
