The ODI World Cup 2023 is all set to commence from October 5. However, every participating team in the event have been given two warm-up games to get used to the conditions in India and test their combinations before entering the actual fixtures.
Bangladesh will be taking on Sri Lanka in the first warm-up fixture of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on September 29. It is worth mentioning that the two teams met each other twice in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023, where the Islanders emerged victorious on both occasions.
Bangladesh will now be looking to gain some momentum before heading into the official tournament. On the other hand, Sri Lanka will also look to get used to the conditions before the actual fixtures.
ODI World Cup 2023 1st Warm-up game:
- Date and Time: September 29; 2:00 pm local | 08:30 am GMT | 2:00 pm IST
- Venue: Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati
Barsapara Cricket Stadium pitch report:
The track at the Barsapara Stadium has generally favoured the batters more. The ball comes nicely onto the bat at this venue, making it easier for the batters to time their shot. Nevertheless, the bowlers can also come into play if they bowl in the right areas. Meanwhile, the spinners become influential in the later half of the game. The team winning the toss might want to have a bat first at this venue.
