After sealing the 8th Asia Cup title, Team India has returned home from Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue registered a thumping ten-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the final last Sunday.
They are now gearing up to face Australia in a three-match ODI series on their home ground. This series is important for India as they gear up for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, which will be contested on Indian soil from October 5.
On Monday, the BCCI made an official announcement regarding the squad that will represent India in the series against Australia.
In a strategic move, captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and the in-form spinner Kuldeep Yadav have been rested for the initial two games. KL Rahul has been entrusted with the leadership role for these games, after which Rohit will resume captaincy duties in the third and final ODI.
