Travis Head powers Australia to memorable win
Winning the toss and electing to bowl, Australian captain Pat Cummins made a strategic decision that paid off handsomely. The Australian bowlers displayed a magnificent performance in the summit clash, restricting India to a below-par total of 240 runs in their allotted 50 overs.
Australia faced early setbacks, slipping to 47/3, with Indian bowlers showing resilience. However, Travis Head emerged as the hero for Australia, playing a breathtaking century innings. Head’s exceptional knock of 137 runs off 120 balls played a pivotal role in Australia’s successful chase, securing a memorable six-wicket win.
“Never expected this, not in a million years, truly an exceptional day. Lot better than sitting on the couch at home. Really glad to contribute, the first twenty balls I played gave me a lot of confidence and yea I was able to carry through,” said Head after winning the Player of the Match.
