Babar Azam, stationed at short extra cover, displayed impeccable timing and athleticism, leaping to perfection to take an overhead catch. Despite the setback of losing Smith, Australia managed to close in on the gap with Pakistan’s first-innings score of 313. The determination displayed by Labuschagne, Marsh, Carey and Smith ensured that the hosts remained in contention, setting the stage for an intriguing continuation of the Test match and ending their innings on a score of 299.
