MI’s decision to bowl first backfired as LSG put up a formidable total of 214 runs for the loss of 6 wickets, with Nicholas Pooran‘s exceptional knock of 75 runs off 29 deliveries.
In the chase, Rohit Sharma showcased his brilliance with an impressive innings of 68 runs off 38 balls, with a notable strike rate of 178.75. His knock was comprised of 10 fours and 3 sixes. Rohit receives a standing ovation at Wankhede Stadium
The right-handed batter appeared to be in fine form with the bat until his innings was abruptly halted by Ravi Bishnoi in the 11th over, as he edged one straight to Mohsin Khan at short third man. As Rohit departed for the pavilion, the Nagpur-born cricketer received a standing ovation from the crowd at the Wankhede Stadium.
Meanwhile, Rohit concluded the season as the leading run-scorer for MI, amassing 417 runs from 14 innings at an average of 32.08 and a strike rate of 150. His tally included one century and one half-century.
