SRH’s batting struggles
The batting woes for SRH began early with Abhishek Sharma (2), Travis Head (0), and Rahul Tripathi (9) falling cheaply, reducing them to a precarious 21/3. Brief resistance came from Aiden Markram (20) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (13), but their efforts were insufficient against the mounting pressure.
Captain Pat Cummins offered some late fireworks with a 24 off 19 balls, but SRH was bundled out for a paltry 113 in 18.3 overs. Andre Russell was the star bowler for KKR, taking three wickets for 19 runs, while Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana supported with two wickets each.
Venkatesh Iyer leads KKR to victory
In response, KKR’s innings was spearheaded by a blistering knock from Venkatesh Iyer, who remained unbeaten on 52 off 26 balls. Despite losing Sunil Narine (6) early, Iyer and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (39 off 32) formed a formidable partnership, steering KKR to the brink of victory. Although Gurbaz was dismissed just before the finish line, Iyer, alongside Shreyas Iyer (6*), ensured KKR’s victory was sealed comfortably in 10.3 overs.
