The Indian spin-bowling pair of Ravichandran Ashwin-Ravindra Jadeja continued to haunt Australia as they wreaked havoc in the morning session of Day 3 to restrict the tourists for a paltry 113 in the second Test of the four-match series.
Starting their second innings at an overnight score of 61-1, the Aussies were abysmal with their batting approach and yet again got bundled out cheaply at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Jadeja registered his career-best figures of 7/42, while Ashwin picked three wickets as India registered a thumping win in two and half days. The Rohit Sharma-led side chased down the 115-run target with six wickets to spare. Cheteshwar Pujara top-scored with an unbeaten 31.
With this win, India have also retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Meanwhile, Australia have now gone without the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in their grasp for nearly a decade. The last time they had the trophy was back in 2014-15 after winning the series 2-0 at home.

It’s at a point now where arguably no bowler in Test history has tormented Australia with such prolonged relentlessness as Ravindra Jadeja. 80 wkts in 14 matches across a decade, averaging 17 and striking at 45. Just extraordinary stuff #INDvAUS

Many congratulations #TeamIndia for retaining the #BorderGavaskarTrophy .
Shami brillin the first inn, Ashwin and Jadeja were absolutely brilliant with the ball both innings, and then Axar Parel and Ashwin got India back into the match with a valiant partnership. #IndvsAus pic.twitter.com/1sRTMyr4jw— VVS Laxman (@VVSLaxman281) February 19, 2023
The Australian batsmen only have themselves to blame such poor shot selection it’s disastrous. Well bowled Jadeja & Ashwin #INDvsAUS

The reason behind India's home dominance is simple.
Our quicks out-bowl their quicks.
Our spinners out-bowl their spinners.
Our spinners out-bat their batters 😉 #INDvAUS #BGT2023— Wasim Jaffer (@WasimJaffer14) February 19, 2023
